RISE Pre-Matriculation: Summer at A&T!

The Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement Program at NC A&T offers talented minority graduating high school seniors an opportunity to prepare for a research career by participation in a 6 week summer pre-matriculation program.

What is the pre-matriculation program?

The pre-matriculation program helps prepare students for the transition to college. Participants learn college survival skills during their 6 week on campus stay. Credited courses may be taken toward your degree. All students will take mini courses designed to enhance your skills in biology, chemistry, pre-calculus and writing. These courses prepare participants for success in their first year of challenging courses.

Who qualifies?

Highly motivated graduating seniors with a GPA of 2.8 or higher who want to major in biology, mathematics, chemistry, psychology or physics leading to biomedical science careers.

What are other benefits?

Students are exposed to various careers in science through seminars and career talks. Students get “hands on” techniques commonly performed in the biomedical research sciences. Students take field trips to other universities and network with biomedical scientists.

Are there financial obligations?

Tuition for courses is covered by the Pre-Matriculation Program for students who meet the qualifications. Housing, meals and other fees are not covered by the program.
